What is landscape architecture?

By studying landscape elements: soil profile, phenomenon, transition, sequence, threshold, "classroom"...... We were asked to add new transition into the existing site. So my goal is to change the sequence ofboth underground and aboveground. On the one hand, by designing the drumlin-like landform as well as enclosing trees, space becomes more dynamic with different mositure gradient responding to hot summer and cold winter. This also has the influence in soil profile. On the other hand, with the changing of tree sequence, from intimate to open, the view to the sea also has such sequence. When visitors navigate the space, the sequence is obvious and the final open space is designed for people to lie down on the grass while enjoying the beautiful view of the Narragensett Bay.
